Doctor? No
To hear self-promoter Dimpho Senong tell it, she has quite the CV. A PhD from Wits University, a professorship and even a seat on PwC’s board. Except, as News24’s Karyn Maughan uncovered, the doctorate was fake, complete with a forged certificate and graduation video. Senong insists it was all tongue-in-cheek and that her PhD is actually in “life experience”. Well, that’s one way to put it.
Sorry about Elon
Pretoria-born Elon Musk has apparently decided that being the world’s richest man isn’t enough. He’s now the biggest individual political donor in modern US history, pouring a staggering $446m into the midterm elections. Much of the action is in Texas, where his donations are helping Republican Ken Paxton’s Senate campaign. Does South Africa owe the US an apology for Mr Musk? In our defence, he left years ago.

People magazine has named The Pitt star Noah Wyle, 55, its 2026 Sexiest Man Alive, and not everyone is thrilled. Some reckon he’s a step down from last year’s winner, Jonathan Bailey. Seriously? The former ER heartthrob has looks, brains, a social conscience and apparently makes a lovely husband and father. Turns out women like a man with a functioning brain and a conscience. Who knew?
