Revealed: The naked truth about Sandy Bay

The beach is set to lose its special status and naturists are up in arms

Cereal killer

After 64 years, South Africa is saying goodbye to ProNutro. Ageing, unreliable machinery forced a change in how the cereal was made, but the new version did not go down well with fans, who complained about its taste, texture and mixability. PepsiCo tried to recreate the original but couldn’t get it right. First launched in 1962, ProNutro has been the go-to for generations of breakfasts and quick comfort meals. It’s a sad day.

Nude awakening

It may be time to cover up at Sandy Bay. New signs on the walkway to Cape Town’s famously clothing-optional beach warn that nudity is prohibited and that the area is being watched by drones. Naturist groups are challenging the crackdown, arguing that authorities should target sexual misconduct rather than nudity itself. After decades of happily baring all, Sandy Bay’s naturists are fighting for the right to remain starkers.

The Tatum theory

We’ve all been through bad break-ups and not behaved our best. Internet sleuths reckon hunky actor Channing Tatum may have taken things a little further than most, apparently using a burner Instagram account to troll ex-fiancée Zoë Kravitz and her new fiancé, Harry Styles. Their evidence? Tatum was, rather suspiciously, the account’s only follower. He has denied it, pointing out that following your own burner account would be pretty stupid.
