The success of South Africa’s agricultural sector is, in part, due to investments in the seed industry. For this reason, we decided to sit down this week with Andrew Bennett, CEO of the South African Cultivar & Technology Agency (SACTA). Among other things, we discussed why better seed is central to South Africa’s food security and unpacked how investment in new cultivars is improving yields, particularly in wheat and soybeans.
