Best known in southern France and Spain, it’s now increasingly planted in South Africa, producing medium- to full-bodied white wines with a fresh, gently rounded, textured feel.
Why we love it:
Grenache blanc doesn’t always get the spotlight – which is a pity, because wines like this make a very good case for it. Bellingham’s Pandemonium Flying Dog is bright and breezy, with plenty of citrus, pear and ripe peach. Best with lighter fare, crisp salads, fresh seafood or grilled calamari, ideally enjoyed outdoors. It’s fresh, easy-going, and just a little cheeky.
