Congratulations on the rebirth of the FM.
I have been an enthusiastic subscriber for more than 50 years because the FM has always told the unvarnished truth, promoted free enterprise and tried to provide financial and economic guidelines that benefited all South Africans. This has resulted in unflinching criticism of past and current government policies and behaviour — often with a touch of humour.
I remember the quip many years ago: “Dr Willie van Niekerk, administrator-general of South West Africa, has been promoted to the cabinet as minister of health, where as an ex-gynaecologist he will find himself in familiar surroundings!”
